Information to the holders of personal data appearing in the Informa D&B database

In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (hereinafter referred to as “GDPR”) and the national legislation that complements it, and in the impossibility of providing you with this information individually, we wish to inform you of the way in which we process your personal data held by Informa D&B (Serviços de Gestão de Empresas) Sociedade Unipessoal, Lda. (hereinafter called “Informa D&B”) and used in our activity of providing business information. Informa D&B’s database only contains information relating to the business activities of the legal persons included therein. However, Informa D&B’s database may contain personal data of holders that relate to the activity of the companies and it is on these data that this information is focused. Informa D&B considers that the publication of this information is an appropriate measure to protect the rights of these holders.

Where do we collect your data?

Your personal data kept by Informa D&B have been collected on:

  1. Public databases.
  2. Supplied directly by you on a voluntary basis after being duly informed in accordance with art. 13 of the GDPR, through interviews, telephone contacts or the “Feed'Back” at Informadb.pt

What data do we process?

At Informa D&B, we comply with the principle of data minimisation and therefore only process personal data that is absolutely essential.

For what purposes do we process your data?

Your data are processed by Informa D&B in the scope of the commercial activity provided by our company to provide business information, solely and in the scope of the business relationships we establish with our customers (companies or business entities).

What is the basis for us to process your data?

The legal basis for the processing of the data we collect from public sources is the legitimate interest of Informa D&B. Commercial Law establishes a duty of transparency to ensure legal security in day-to-day business and Informa D&B, by providing business information services about companies, contributes to the transparency and legal security that is necessary in business and it is in this requirement by the market that the legitimate interest of Informa D&B to process such data is based. It should be noted that there is no imbalance between Informa D&B’s legitimate interest and the holders’ right to privacy, since the data of these holders that are part of Informa D&B’s databases are already public at their origin.

The basis for processing the data you provide is your consent.

For how long are your data stored?

The personal data subject to processing shall be kept for as long as necessary to the purpose for which they are intended.

With whom are your data shared?

Personal data will be transmitted to Informa D&B customers within the scope of the services we market.

Are your data handled securely?

Informa D&B has adopted the appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the security of your personal data made available to us against its diffusion, loss, misuse, alteration, processing and unauthorised access, as well as against any other form of illicit processing. Informa D&B requires from its subcontractors and partners the adoption of security measures equivalent to those it practices.

What are your rights?

You may exercise the rights of access, correction, cancellation, opposition, portability and limitation of processing by sending an e-mail to Informa D&B’s Data Protection Officer: protecaodedados@informadb.pt. Please attach your civil identification number or an equivalent document attesting your identity. You have the right to file complaints with the Portuguese National Data Protection Commission.
